A company is the trading entity — the name, registration number and tax number that appear on your documents. A location is a place underneath it: a shop or a warehouse.
Stock sits at locations. Sales happen at locations. The company is the umbrella, and it is also a level at which settings can be set once for all its branches.
How to add a company

How to add a shop or warehouse
Section titled “How to add a shop or warehouse”- Go to Organization → Locations and click New record — or use Add location on a company’s row, which fills the company in for you.
- Choose the Company.
- Choose the Location type: Shop or Warehouse.
- Type the Name and a Code, such as
HQ01. - Set the Branch type — Head office, Branch, Sub branch or Regional office.
- Set the Trade type and the Sales channel — Point of sale, Ecommerce or Both.
- Add the address, city and any GPS details you want.
- Save.
Leave Country ID and Region ID blank. They are raw internal-reference boxes with no picker and no list to choose from.
Plan limits
Section titled “Plan limits”Shops and warehouses have separate allowances.
| Plan | Companies | Shops | Warehouses |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | 1 | 1 | none |
| Standard | 1 | 3 | 2 |
| Growth | 2 | 5 | 3 |
| Professional | 3 | 8 | 5 |
| Enterprise | 7 | 15 | 10 |
Deleted companies and locations do not count against the limit — unlike users.
Traps when you have more than one
Section titled “Traps when you have more than one”Location codes must be unique across the whole business, not per company. Two
companies cannot both have a shop coded HQ01 — the second save fails.
Adding a second company gives nobody access to it. Each person needs a new grant under Manage access before the company appears in their switcher. See managing people.
The Locations list has no company filter, so with two companies you get one flat list, searchable only by the location’s own name and code.
Export does nothing on both screens — it shows a message and produces no file.
