Introduction
SaleSprint runs a shop. It handles the till, the stock room, the money and the people — across one counter or a chain of branches.
These guides are written for the people who use it: cashiers, stock keepers, managers and administrators. You do not need to be technical to follow them.
Start here
Section titled “Start here”Brand new? Do these three, in order:
- Creating your account — signing up, and the one detail you must write down before you close the page.
- Signing in and out — including what to do when you cannot get in.
- Your first day — products, opening stock, tax, and your first sale.
Already using SaleSprint? These three explain most of the puzzling behaviour:
- Accounts, companies and locations — how your business is set up, and what the location switcher in the top bar actually changes.
- Roles and permissions — why you can see some screens and not others.
- Documents and how they connect — the single most useful idea in the product: posting is the moment a document takes effect.
Then go to the section for the work you do.
How the guides are arranged
Section titled “How the guides are arranged”The guide sections mirror the app’s own menu, so if you can find something in the app, you can find it here.
| Section | Covers |
|---|---|
| Core concepts | Ideas that apply everywhere — locations, permissions, plans, documents, approvals, settings, working offline. |
| Catalog | Your products, and everything that describes them. |
| Selling | The till and every other sale document: quotations, returns, layaway, deliveries, online orders. |
| Purchasing, Inventory, Finance, Payments | Buying, stock, the books, and taking money. |
| Contacts & CRM, Manufacturing, Workforce & HR, Marketing | The people you deal with, what you make, who works for you, and reaching customers. |
| Online store, Van sales | Selling away from the counter. |
| Industry packs | Extra screens for restaurants, hotels, pharmacies, salons, clinics, fashion and more. |
| Reports & dashboards, Notifications, Administration | Surfaces that read every one of the above. |
Alongside the guides:
- API & developers — for anyone building against SaleSprint.
- Self-hosting — running it on your own server.
Three things worth knowing up front
Section titled “Three things worth knowing up front”The till keeps working without internet. Sales are saved on the device and sent up when the connection returns. The catch is that the server’s reply arrives later, so a change the server refuses turns up in the sync centre rather than as an error on screen. See Working offline.
The server decides the numbers. Prices, tax, cost and profit are worked out on the server, not on the till. What you see while ringing up is a preview; the server’s figures are the ones that count.
A missing menu item has three possible causes — a permission you do not hold, a setting switched off, or a plan that does not include it. Only the last shows an upgrade prompt. See Settings and how they resolve.
