Signing in and out

How to sign in for the first time on a device

Section titled “How to sign in for the first time on a device”

The first sign-in asks for your workspace. Later ones do not.

  1. Open the app.
  2. On Enter your workspace, type your workspace ID — your business name in lowercase with hyphens, like adom-supermarket. Only lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens are accepted.
  3. Click Verify & continue.
  4. On Welcome back, type your Email or username and your Password.
  5. Click Sign in.

If you see “We couldn’t find that workspace”, check the spelling. See Creating your account for how the workspace ID is formed, and ask support if your best guess keeps failing.

Your workspace is remembered, so you go straight to Welcome back. To sign in as a different business, click Change next to the workspace name.

What you see What it means
invalid credentials Wrong email or wrong password. The wording is blunt, but that is all it means.
account is locked; try again later Five wrong passwords in a row. Wait five minutes and try again — there is no countdown on screen. A successful sign-in clears it.
account is disabled An administrator has switched your account off. Ask them.
Network unavailable You have no connection. A first sign-in needs internet.
This account requires multi-factor authentication… Accounts with two-factor security cannot sign in on the app at all yet. An administrator must turn MFA off for that account.
  1. On the sign-in screen, click Forgot password?
  2. Type your Email and click Send reset link.
  3. You will see “Check your email”. Click Enter reset code.
  4. Open the email titled “Reset your SaleSprint password” and find the 6-digit reset code.
  5. Type it into Reset code, then type your New password twice.
  6. Click Update password, then Sign in.

The code expires in 15 minutes. You can only ask for five resets in any 15 minutes; after that, requests are quietly ignored even though the screen still says the email is on its way.

For your security, the screen says the same thing whether or not the email address is recognised. Seeing “Check your email” does not confirm the account exists.

Along the top bar, to the left, are two buttons:

  • The company button, if your business has more than one company.
  • The shop or warehouse button. Click it for a list grouped into Shops and Warehouses, with a tick beside the one you are in. If your company allows it, there is also Whole company at the top, which shows everything at once.

Whatever you pick here decides which branch’s stock and sales you are working with, so check it before you start a shift.

  1. Click your avatar, top right.
  2. Click Logout.

If your business closes shifts automatically at logout, your open till is closed first. Your workspace ID is remembered, so next time you go straight to the password screen.

Click your avatar, top right, then My Account. The page is headed Account.

  1. Under Profile photo, click the picker and choose an image — PNG, JPG or WebP. It is “Shown on your avatar across the app.”
  2. It saves as soon as you choose it, and you get “Profile photo updated”.

To take it off, clear the picker — you get “Profile photo removed”.

Below the photo is an attachments area for documents about you — an ID card, a certificate, a licence. Anything you add here is attached to your staff record, not to a sale or a product.

Username, Email, Phone, Email verified and Phone verified. Anything you have not given shows as Not set.

  • Staying signed in offline works. Once you are in on a device, the app keeps working without a connection, with the right permissions, until somebody signs out.
  • Signing in fresh offline does not. The first sign-in on a device — and any sign-in after a deliberate Logout — needs internet.

Practical advice for staff on unreliable connections: do not sign out at the end of a shift. Lock the device instead. Signing out means needing a connection to get back in.
