Feature Verticals → Rental
The rental pack is small and honest: a counter that takes the hire money, and a
list of agreements. What it does not do is manage the items themselves.

Two screens, both real. No placeholders in this pack.
Use the counter — see
Counters for your trade . In short: name the
renter, set the start and due dates, add the items, and check out.
The hire charge is worked out for you: the item’s ordinary selling price is
taken as the daily rate , multiplied by quantity and by the number of days.
The daily rate cannot be changed
There is no rental price list and no way to override the rate on the counter or
the agreement. Whatever the product sells for is what it hires for, per day.
If that does not suit, create separate catalogue products for hire — “Ladder,
daily hire” — priced as a day’s rent.
There is also no hourly, weekly or monthly rate, and no minimum charge. A
same-day return bills one day.
Check the payment screen actually appeared
If the rent cannot be billed — most often because no default service item has
been configured — the counter still says the rental was created and takes no
money . No error, no warning.
The payment screen appearing is your only confirmation. If it does not appear,
nothing has been charged.
Go to Verticals → Rental → Rental Agreements .
Find the agreement and click Edit .
Change the Status to Returned .
Save.
That is the whole return process. The date is recorded automatically.
Four things the app will not do for you
The deposit is never taken and never refunded. It is a number on a form.
Collect and return it yourself, outside the app.
The late fee is never charged. Nothing compares the return date to the due
date, and nothing multiplies your “Late fee / day” by anything. An overdue hire
only shows as Overdue if a person changes the status by hand.
Damage is not recorded anywhere. There is no condition field you can reach,
and no partial-return quantity.
Stock is untouched. A hired-out item still shows as fully available, and the
app will let you hire the same unit to two people at once. There is no
reservation and no availability check — keep a book.
An agreement created from the list cannot be billed
The New record button on the Rental Agreements screen creates an agreement
with no items on it , and there is no way to add items afterwards. Such an
agreement can never be charged for.
Always start a hire at the Rental POS. Use the list for looking things up and
for marking returns.
Variant, batch and serial choices are discarded
If you pick a specific variant, batch or serial number when adding an item at
the counter, none of it is saved on the agreement . It records only the
product. You cannot tell from the app which physical unit went out.
Write the serial number in the Notes .
