The marketplace is a shared shopping site run by the company that sells you SaleSprint, where several merchants are listed side by side. It is separate from your own shop.

It sends people to you — it does not sell for you

There is no basket and no checkout on the marketplace. A listing is an advert: the shopper reads it and clicks through to your shop to buy.

So every marketplace sale is an ordinary sale on your own storefront, and nothing extra arrives in your books.

How to open a marketplace store

1. First switch List on marketplace to Yes on the shop itself, under Online Store → Storefronts.
2. Go to Marketplace → My marketplace stores and click Open a store.
3. Pick the Online shop this store card represents. It cannot be changed later.
4. Type the Store name, and leave Slug blank to have one made for you.
5. Add a Tagline, About the store, Location, Trading since and What you sell.
6. Upload a Logo and a Banner, each with a description for screen readers.
7. Save.

Your store now reads Awaiting review. The marketplace operator decides when it goes live — you cannot set the status or the verified badge yourself, and there is no way to hurry it.

Your store card has no link back to your shop

The “Buy from…” button on your marketplace listings — the one that sends shoppers to you — needs your shop’s web address, and this form has no field for it.

A store card created here therefore has no working way through to your shop, and every listing under it is a dead end. Ask the marketplace operator to set your shop’s address on the store card.

How to list a product

1. Go to Marketplace → Marketplace listings and click Publish a product.
2. Search for the Catalog product. Only products marked Online and Active appear — if yours is missing, that is why, and nothing says so.
3. Type the Title, Short description, Price, optional Sale price, Currency and Unit.
4. Choose the Availability to tell shoppers — this is a statement you make, not your stock level.
5. Pick a Marketplace category — the marketplace’s own list, not yours.
6. Add a Picture and its description.
7. Leave Put it live straight away on, and save.

Use Withdraw to take a listing down and Put live to bring it back. Delete removes it for good.

A listing is a photocopy and never updates itself

Everything you type is copied to the marketplace at that moment. Change your price, your photo or your description in the catalogue afterwards and the listing keeps the old values indefinitely. Nothing reconciles them and nothing warns you.

Re-open and re-save each listing whenever the real thing changes. The Refreshed column tells you when each was last copied.

Two things shoppers see cannot be filled in here

The public listing page shows a full description below the short one, and a picture gallery. This form offers neither, so every listing you publish has an empty description area and a single photo.

Ratings are always blank

The Rating column on both screens shows a dash, permanently. There is no review system on the marketplace yet.

Your listings stay invisible until the operator makes your store Live — the banner at the top of the screen tells you where you stand.

Marketplace buyers

This screen holds no list. It explains that marketplace shoppers are simply your own shoppers, and points you at Shoppers and Online orders.

One line on it is not true

It says orders that came through the marketplace are marked as such on your orders list. They are not — no order is ever marked, and the marketplace filter on the orders screen matches nothing.

Since the marketplace has no checkout, a shopper it sends you simply arrives at your shop like any other visitor. There is no way to tell them apart.
