Where Online Store → Storefronts
Plan Growth and above
Permission Ecommerce → Storefront
Feature Modules → Ecommerce
Go to Online Store → Storefronts and click New store .
Type the Store address (slug) — lowercase letters, numbers and single
hyphens, like city-grocer.
Set Belongs to — see the warning below, this matters.
Leave Status as Draft while you build it.
Set List on marketplace to No for now.
Save. You will see “Store created — you are now editing it.”
Choose a company, never “All companies”
Belongs to is fixed forever the moment you save, and “All companies”
produces a shop you cannot design.
The Appearance screen refuses the very first save with a permission error that
has nothing to do with permissions, and applying a theme fails outright. There
is no way back — the scope cannot be changed, so the store has to be deleted and
built again.
Pick Current company .
The slug is not your web address
Despite the name, Store address (slug) is not a link and shoppers never see
it. It is a name for the store inside the platform, and it must be unique across
every SaleSprint customer — so a common word may be refused because somebody
else took it.
It cannot be changed after saving.
This is the part that surprises people. Creating a shop does not create a
link. A shopper reaches your shop by a domain you own and point at the
platform yourself.
Buy a domain, or use one you already own.
Go to Online Store → Domains and click Add domain .
Type the hostname only — shop.example.com. No https://, no slash, no
port.
Save.
On the new row, click Show DNS record . Copy the record shown.
At your domain provider, create that TXT record.
Also point the domain at the platform itself — ask whoever set up your
SaleSprint account for the address to point it at. This is the step that
actually makes the shop load.
Back in SaleSprint, click Mark as verified on the row.
Click Make primary .
Verify checks nothing — and there is no HTTPS
“Mark as verified” does not look at your DNS. It takes your word for it. The
TXT record it shows you is never read by anything. Clicking it on a domain you
have not set up marks it verified, and the shop still will not load.
No security certificate is issued either. The Certificate column reads
none on every domain, permanently — there is no certificate step in the app at
all. Serving your shop over https:// is infrastructure work outside SaleSprint.
So treat the Domains screen as recording the domain, not setting it up . The
real work is at your domain provider and with whoever hosts the platform.
About the primary domain
If you attach several domains, one is Primary — the address everything else
redirects to. The primary one cannot be removed; make another primary first.
A domain cannot be edited. To fix a typo, remove it and add it again.
Go to Online Store → Storefronts .
On the store’s row menu, click Set status .
Choose Active and save.
The four choices:
Draft
Nobody can reach it. The address returns “not found”.
Active
Open and taking orders.
Maintenance
The address works but shows a holding page. Checkout is refused. Use this while you make big changes.
Suspended
Closed by the platform operator — usually a billing matter.
Active is not enough on its own
A shop that is Active but whose design has never been published shows an
error page. Go to Appearance and press Publish once. See
Designing your shop .
You also need an order status before checkout works — see
Taking orders .
You can suspend your own shop
The status list hides Suspended unless the shop is already suspended, but
nothing stops it being set another way. Use Maintenance when you want to
close temporarily — it is the one designed for it, and it keeps your branding on
screen.
Set the status to Draft . That takes it off the internet while keeping
everything.
Delete is a different matter:
Delete does less than it says, and one thing it does not undo
The confirmation says the store “and its pages, menus and settings will be
removed”. They are not. The pages, menus, sections, design and domain
records all remain in the database.
The part that matters in practice: deleting a shop does not release its
domain. The hostname stays claimed platform-wide, so adding it to a new shop
is refused as already taken. If you plan to rebuild, remove the domain before
deleting the store.
