Money and accounts

Financials is the biggest section in the app — around seventy screens across a dozen groups. Most shops use five of them.

You can run a shop without touching any of this

Section titled “You can run a shop without touching any of this”

Your books are deliberately empty when you sign up. No chart of accounts, no posting profiles. That is not an oversight: which accounts a business posts to is an accountant’s decision, and seeding one would make it for you.

Meanwhile, selling and stock work perfectly. Sales record, stock moves, costs are tracked, reports run. Only the double-entry bookkeeping waits for you.

Every document elsewhere in the app — a sale, a goods receipt, a stock adjustment — writes a matching accounting entry when it posts. Which accounts it writes to is decided by a posting profile.

Financials is the most plan-gated part of the app.

Plan
Expenses, incomes, bank accounts, cash submissions All plans
Vendor invoices and payments, supplier ledger Standard
Chart of accounts, posting profiles, tax, banking, petty cash, till sessions, fixed assets, most setup Growth
General ledger, journal entries, customer invoices and payments, all financial statements Professional

On the entry plan you can record what you spend and bank your takings, but you cannot produce a Profit & Loss.
