Your online shop

SaleSprint can run a real web shop for you: your products, your branding, a basket, a checkout, and orders that land back in this app.

It is a substantial feature and most of it genuinely works. But the path from “empty” to “a shopper can buy something” has several steps that are not signposted, and two of them will stop you dead if you miss them.

  1. Set up the shop — create it against one company, attach your domain, set it Active.
  2. Create an order status — the step that makes checkout work at all.
  3. Design it — pick a theme, set your colours and logo, then Publish.
  4. Choose which categories show and build your menu.
  5. Build the home page.
  6. Add your delivery options.
  7. Make sure your products are marked online — see Products. A product that is not online cannot appear, be searched for, or be listed anywhere.

This catches everyone, so learn it now. There are two separate switches and you need both.

The shop’s Status Draft, Active, Maintenance or Suspended. Set on the store’s row. Only Active and Maintenance answer at all.
Publishing the design A separate Publish button on the Appearance screen. Your design work sits in a draft until you press it.

A shop that is Active but has never had its design published shows an error page, not a shop. Press Publish once, even if you changed nothing.

Changes take up to a minute to appear — the shop caches what it fetched. Reload after a minute before assuming something is broken.

You can run more than one shop. Every screen in this section works on one shop at a time, shown in the bar at the top: Editing store — city-grocer, with Switch store beside it.

With one shop it is chosen for you. With several, pick one first — screens show “Choose a store” until you do.

The whole section needs the Growth plan and the e-commerce module switched on for your account. Without the module the menu shows the section locked, with an upsell, rather than hiding it.
