Reporting → Product Report

Four menu groups share one permission: Product Catalogue Reports, Product Performance Reports, Cost & Pricing Reports and Combined Product Reports.

Report One row is Plan
Product List one product Essential
Product Catalog one product, with cost, price and stock Essential
Product by Category one category Standard
Product Variants one variant, once per attribute Standard
New Products one product created in the period Standard
Product Expiry one batch or stock position with an expiry date Standard
Product by Brand one brand Growth
Product Promotion one product on one promotion Growth
Product Supplier Mapping one product–supplier link Growth

Product by Brand leaves out anything with no brand, so its totals will not match Product by Category or Product List.

It lists everything with an expiry date, however far away — there is no “expiring within” cut-off, and already-expired items show a negative number of days. It picks up both batch expiry dates and expiry dates typed onto a plain stock position, so you do not have to be using batches. If nobody has ever entered an expiry date, it is empty and says nothing about why.

Report What it is Plan
Top Products by Volume top 50 by units sold Standard
Top Products by Revenue top 50 by money Standard
Product Sales Trend one product per month Growth
Product Return Rate products that have been returned Growth
Fast Moving Products top 50 by units sold Growth
Slow Moving Products everything you hold stock of, worst sellers first Growth
Product Gross Profit same figures as the two Top reports, sorted by profit Professional
Dead Stock stock you hold that did not sell at all Professional
ABC Analysis your products ranked and banded Professional

There is no cleverness here, and nothing is configurable:

  • Fast Moving is simply your 50 best sellers in the period. Nothing is tested against a speed.
  • Slow Moving is every product you hold stock of, listed worst-seller first.
  • Dead Stock is stock you hold that had no sale at all in the period. With no dates set, that means never sold.
  • ABC Analysis bands by revenue: A is the products making your first 80% of revenue, B the next 15 points, C the rest.

A product that has never sold shows 9999 days since last sale. That is the app’s way of saying “never”, not a data error.

Product Return Rate’s “Top reason” ignores your filters — it is the most common reason ever recorded, not the most common in the period you chose.

Report One row is Plan
Product Price one price you have set Standard
Product Discount one product that was discounted Growth
Price vs Cost Margin one price, worst margin first Professional
Product Cost by Supplier one product from one supplier Professional
Product Cost History one cost change Professional
Price Compliance one sale sold below its price Professional

This is the one to run if you suspect discounting is getting out of hand.

  1. Go to Reports → Cost & Pricing Reports → Price Compliance.
  2. Set a Location, Category or date range if you want.
  3. Click Run report.
  4. A red Below cost badge means it sold for less than it cost. Under price means it sold below its set price but above cost.

It compares each sale against the price you set for that product, preferring the branch price over the company-wide one. A product with no price set is invisible to this report — it cannot be an exception if there is nothing to compare against.

An empty result is the good outcome.

Product Discount’s “Coupon discount” tile is the one figure in the whole reports area that is not converted to your main currency. If you take foreign currency, that tile mixes currencies while the tile beside it does not.

Report What it is Plan
Product Summary Dashboard 11 tiles for the whole business, runs by itself Professional
Inventory Turnover how many times your stock turns over Professional
Stock Cover how many days your stock will last Professional
nav.inventoryBalanceReports your stock value day by day Professional
Product Lifecycle first and last bought and sold, all time Enterprise
Product Profitability by Branch one product at one branch Enterprise

Product Summary Dashboard has no filters at all — it is always the whole business. Its figures overlap the Stock dashboard’s without being calculated the same way, so do not expect them to match.

On Inventory Turnover, “Average inventory value” is not an average — it is today’s stock at today’s cost. And the days-of-stock figure is always annualised over 365 days however short a period you chose, so a one-week run gives a wildly inflated number.

Stock Cover grades your cover as critical under 7 days, low under 14, adequate under 30 and high above that. Those bands are fixed.

Inventory Balance is built from a nightly snapshot, so a date range from before you started using SaleSprint — or one the snapshot has not reached — comes back empty. The screen carries a note explaining this, but the note has no English text and shows as reports.product.inventoryBalance.note.

Two things that affect every product report

Section titled “Two things that affect every product report”

Profit is the cost written on the ticket, not what the stock really cost you — the same limitation described under Sale reports. These reports also do not net off returns, while the Profit Margin report does, so the product reports will read higher.

Four reports show their internal name as the page heading: Price Compliance, Product Discount, Product Promotion and Inventory Balance. The last of those is also missing from the sidebar, where it reads nav.inventoryBalanceReports.

On Product Promotion, the State and Scope columns show internal words like reports.promotionState.running in place of proper labels — on screen and in the downloaded file.
