What your customers receive
When SaleSprint emails one of your customers, the message carries a link to a page showing the document itself — their invoice, their receipt, their delivery. That page is also where they can pay.
This page is for answering the question “what did my customer actually get?”
Where the links open
Section titled “Where the links open”| Document | Where its link opens |
|---|---|
| Invoice, account statement, credit note, and anything with a pay button | SaleSprint Pay, always |
| Receipt, order, quotation, delivery, return | Your online shop’s address if you run one; otherwise a customer page address you set yourself; otherwise SaleSprint Pay |
SaleSprint Pay shows your business name on the document, needs no login from the customer, and keeps no cookies.
Setting a customer page address
Section titled “Setting a customer page address”With SaleSprint Pay in place, this only matters for receipts, orders, quotations, deliveries and returns, and only if you do not run an online shop.

- Type
customer portalinto Search settings. - Flip the Override switch on for Notifications → Customer Portal Base Url.
- Enter the web address customers should land on, e.g.
https://shop.example.com.
There is no Save button — the change saves itself, and a tick appears beside the setting name.
It can also be set per company or per branch, from that company or location’s Scoped settings, if different parts of the business use different addresses.
If you run an online shop through SaleSprint, its own address is used automatically and you do not need to do anything.
Which documents get a link
Section titled “Which documents get a link”| Document | What the customer can do |

| Order | View and print |
| Receipt | View and print |
| Delivery | View, print, and track |
| Quotation | View and print |

What the customer sees
Section titled “What the customer sees”The page shows From and To, the Date, Number and Status, a Details section, an Items table with description, quantity, unit price and amount, and a Summary ending in the Total or Amount due.
An invoice also shows its Due date — with an Overdue badge once that has passed — the subtotal, discount and each tax, what has been Paid, and your Notes and Terms.
There is a Print button — “Print or save as PDF” — and a note reading “This page was opened from a private link sent to you. Please don’t share it.”
Depending on the document there is also a Pay now or Track delivery button.
If the link no longer works
Section titled “If the link no longer works”The customer sees “This link has expired or is no longer valid” — “Document links are only valid for a limited time. If you still need this document, the business can send you a fresh link.”
Expired, revoked, mistyped and deleted all show exactly this same message, deliberately, so that nobody can probe your links to learn which ones are real. That means the message tells you nothing about the cause. Just send a fresh document.
If SaleSprint itself is having trouble, the wording is different — “We couldn’t load this document right now. This is on our side, not your link.”
How long links last
Section titled “How long links last”| Document | Valid for |
|---|---|
| Statement | 1 year |
| Order, invoice, quotation | 6 months |
| Receipt | 3 months |
| Payment, delivery tracking | 1 month |
You can see and revoke issued links if you hold the document-link permission.
Paying from an invoice
Section titled “Paying from an invoice”When the customer taps Pay now they reach a hosted payment page, where they pay by Mobile Money or Credit / debit card. What they see at each step, how the payment is confirmed and what the statuses mean are covered in getting paid online.
How the pay link behaves
Section titled “How the pay link behaves”It is created when the invoice is issued or first opened, and reloading the page reuses the same one rather than starting a second charge.
The invoice page always asks for what is currently owed. If you record a part-payment after emailing the invoice, the customer reloading the invoice is asked for the reduced balance, not the original total. The Pay now button inside an older email keeps the amount from when it was sent — see how much the customer is asked for.
