Receivers versus inboxes
Section titled “Receivers versus inboxes”SaleSprint sends two different kinds of message, and this is the distinction that causes the most confusion:
| Goes to | |
|---|---|
| Something about you — an approval waiting for you, your password reset | you, in your inbox and on your chosen channels |
| Something about the business — stock running low, an invoice overdue, an RFQ closing | the receiver list on this screen |
A receiver is simply an address the business’s alerts go to. It does not have to belong to anyone who logs in — an email address is enough. If a receiver does happen to match a user account, that person also gets the alert in their inbox.
Your signup email address is added as a receiver automatically when the business is created.
How to add an alert recipient
Section titled “How to add an alert recipient”- Go to Setups → Notification Receivers.
- Click New recipient.
- Fill in the form, top to bottom:
- Name — optional, just so you can recognise the row.
- Email — required. This is the address alerts go to.
- WhatsApp number — optional.
- Billing recipient switch — see below.
- Active switch — see the warning below.
- Alert categories — “Which operational alert categories this recipient hears.” Choose All categories, or Selected and then tick the ones you want.
- Click save.
Each row then shows the name, the email and phone, whether it is active, whether the email has been verified, and a summary such as All categories, No categories or 3 categories.
You cannot delete a receiver — only deactivate it, which keeps the history.
SaleSprint’s own bills
Section titled “SaleSprint’s own bills”The billing recipient switch is separate from everything else. It decides who receives SaleSprint’s invoices to you, payment receipts, overdue chasers and legal notices.
The billing switch also ignores the category list — unticking “Billing” under Alert categories does not stop these. Only turning the billing switch off does.
What each receiver actually gets
Section titled “What each receiver actually gets”With All categories, a receiver gets every business alert. These are the ones that run as overnight sweeps:
| Alert | Category |
|---|---|
| Low stock, stock expiring soon, warranties expiring soon | Inventory |
| Gift cards expiring soon, layaway payments due, overdue backorders | Sales |
| Blanket orders expiring soon, RFQs closing soon | Purchasing |
| Overdue invoices | Finance |
Purchasing staff notices and record-change alerts also go to receivers.
A trap when editing
Section titled “A trap when editing”Note too that only the stock alerts respect a branch setting at all. Every other alert goes to every subscribed receiver regardless.
Receivers can remove themselves
Section titled “Receivers can remove themselves”Alert emails carry an unsubscribe link, and using it switches that receiver to inactive. So a receiver can go quiet without an administrator doing anything — worth checking this list if alerts stop arriving.
Who can see this
Section titled “Who can see this”The Growth plan and the notification-receiver permission. Without the permission the menu entry is hidden.
