Everything you sell is recorded as a document. Most of the time that document is an
ordinary sale rung up at the till — but when the customer is not walking out with the
goods today, or is bringing something back, a different document is the right one.
This page is the map. Each entry links to a full page.

When
Selling at the till
The normal case: customer pays, takes the goods, leaves.
Credit sales
The customer takes the goods today but does not pay in full. An invoice is raised for the balance.
Credit limits
Capping how much a customer may owe before a credit sale is refused.
These three look similar and behave very differently. The difference is when the
goods leave your shelf and when the money counts as income .

Pickup later
The full amount, today
When they collect
Layaway
A deposit today, then instalments
When the last instalment is paid
Backorders
Usually at handover
When the stock arrives and you hand it over
Your takings will not match your sales figure
For pickup-later and layaway, the money in the drawer is held as a customer deposit ,
not counted as a sale, until the customer collects. So on a day with a lot of deposits,
your sales total will read lower than the cash you actually took. That is deliberate —
the sale is recorded when the goods change hands.

When
Quotations
The customer wants a written price before deciding.

When
Good returns
Goods are coming back and you are doing something about it — refund, exchange, credit, repair.
RMA requests
A return needs authorising or reviewing before you accept it.
Trade-in requests
A customer is offering you an item in exchange for credit.
Deliveries
You are sending goods out and need to track the trip.

When
Counters for your trade
You run a restaurant, hotel, salon, rental business or pharmacy and have the industry pack.
Online orders
Orders are arriving from your storefront.
A good return is what actually moves the goods
An RMA is paperwork — approving one does not restock anything or refund anybody. The
refund, the stock and the ledger only move when a good return is posted. See
RMA requests .
Not every document above is on every plan, and some are hidden until you switch them
on. If something on this page is missing from your menu, check in this order:
A permission you do not hold — ask an administrator.
An opt-in setting switched off — Layaway, Backorders and the Pickup Release
Queue disappear entirely when their setting is off.
Your plan — only this one shows an upgrade prompt.
