Exporting a report

Unlike the Export button on most list screens in SaleSprint — which shows a message and produces no file — the Export on a report genuinely downloads a file.

  1. Run the report first. There is nothing to export until it has results.
  2. Click Export in the toolbar above the table.
  3. Choose Export CSV, Export Excel or Export PDF.
  4. For PDF only, a Paper size box appears — pick A4, A3 or A2.
  5. The file saves straight to your downloads folder. You will see “Downloaded name” when it is done.

There is no Save as dialog and no choice of folder — it goes to the usual downloads location under a name the app picks from the report’s title.

Format What it is
Excel A real .xlsx workbook — bold frozen header row, real numbers you can sum, a filter on every column, and a TOTAL row with live formulas.
CSV Plain text, header row, data rows and a totals row. For loading into another system.
PDF Landscape, on your letterhead, with a shaded TOTAL row. This is the one to send to an accountant or a bank.

Two whole groups cannot be downloaded in any format:

  • all 13 Manufacturing Reports, and
  • the Sales Analytics screens.

Nothing on those screens says so — the Export button is simply absent.

There is no Print button. Export a PDF and print that.

You cannot email a report from the report screen. There is no send option anywhere in Reports.

Reports cannot be scheduled. Nothing arrives in your inbox every Monday; there are no report subscriptions. Someone has to open the report and run it.

There is no copy-to-clipboard, despite what you may have read elsewhere.

The filename comes from the report’s title and has no date in it, so running the same report twice in a day produces two files with the same name. Rename the first one before you run the second, or you will not be able to tell them apart.

The date the report covers is printed inside the PDF and the spreadsheet, under the title.
