The last two have no English name in the menu, and their page headings and three of their column headings are raw internal names too. They are the most visibly unfinished screens in the app — but the figures are right.
Before you trust any of these
Section titled “Before you trust any of these”Date boxes that are ignored
Section titled “Date boxes that are ignored”Every report in this group displays the same date controls, but most of them do not use both ends.
| Report | What the dates do |
|---|---|
| Profit & Loss, Cash Flow, Trial Balance | both dates used properly |
| Balance Sheet, Cash Account Balances, Receivables Aging, Payables Aging, both reconciliations | only the End date — it is the “as at” date, and the Start date does nothing |
| Top Debtors, Top Creditors, Cost Centre P&L | neither date does anything — always as of now |
A balance sheet from 1 January to 31 March is not a first-quarter balance sheet; it is your position as at 31 March.
How to run a Profit & Loss
Section titled “How to run a Profit & Loss”- Go to Reports → Financial Reports → Profit & Loss.
- It opens on This month. Choose another period or type your own dates.
- Narrow to one Location if you want.
- Click Run report.
You get Total revenue, Total cost of sales, Gross profit, Total expenses, Operating profit, Total other income and Net profit, then the full statement. Negative figures appear in red brackets.
Accounts with no movement are left out, and an empty section is skipped entirely.
Balance Sheet
Section titled “Balance Sheet”Retained Earnings is shown as an equity line with no account code. Your profit to date is folded in there, because profit accounts are never closed off. It appears both as a tile and inside the Equity section — it is one figure, not two.
Financial Summary
Section titled “Financial Summary”It opens and fills itself in with no date range, giving Revenue, Expenses, Net profit, Cash balance, Receivables, Overdue receivables, Payables and Overdue payables.
Receivables Aging buckets what each customer owes into Current, 1–30, 31–60, 61–90 and 90+ days, measured against the End date.
Customers who owe nothing, or who are in credit, are left off entirely.
The tiles at the top are the authoritative totals for the whole report; the footer row follows whatever you typed in the search box.
The two reconciliation reports
Section titled “The two reconciliation reports”These answer one question: do my customer balances agree with my accounts?
- Open Reports → Financial Reports → the entry reading
nav.arControlReconciliationReport. - It runs by itself.
- Look at the Status tile. An empty table with a good status is the result you want — only customers who disagree are listed.
A difference means the customer’s debt exists in one place and not the other. The usual cause is a sale that completed while posting profiles were unconfigured: the customer owes you, and the aging report knows it, but the books never recorded it.
Cost Centre P&L
Section titled “Cost Centre P&L”Cash Flow Statement
Section titled “Cash Flow Statement”It classifies cash by what the money moved against, not by the categories an accountant would use: movements against asset accounts count as Investing, against liabilities and equity as Financing, everything else as Operating.
Transfers between two of your own cash accounts disappear, deliberately.
Opening cash is zero unless you set a Start date, which makes Closing cash look wrong if you clear the range.
Two more things
Section titled “Two more things”Every amount is your main currency, converted from foreign documents at the rate recorded on each one. No currency symbol is printed.
Cancelled documents are reversed rather than removed, so they net to zero in the accounts rather than vanishing.
